I was a competitive athlete from my local town of Escondido. I participated in many sports growing up and was a multi-letter athlete from San Pasqual High School. I continued my field hockey career at the University of Michigan on a full-ride athletic scholarship where I was a member of the 2001 National Championship team. In 2015 I was inducted into my high school’s Hall of Fame as a tri-sport athlete. I’ve also completed the San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, a handful of half marathons, a sprint triathlon, local CrossFit competitions, and the Squaw Valley Spartan Beast.
Being a member of a team for almost all my life I was missing that important piece that made me feel like a part of something meaningful. I took a leap and moved to Solana Beach in 2014 where I didn’t have any friends and joined the gym. From that moment I felt like I was on a team again and instantly craved the daily “practices” with my teammates. What I was missing after being a competitive athlete for so long was filled with grueling workouts with friends and celebrations of each other’s accomplishments.
Being a coach my goal is to create an atmosphere where new relationships are built and existing relationships are strengthened through teamwork, encouragement, and motivation.
